TTM Kit Tyre Maintenance

A solution for improved tyre pressure

ttm-kit-front-img-666x280

The TTM Kit (Truckie’s Tyre Maintenance Kit) provides a reliable and efficient solution for tyre pressure management. The TTM Kit saves you time and money.

Fleet owners and fleet managers have a duty of care to their drivers and other motorists and must provide regular checks and inspections to ensure the fleet’s tyres are safe and legal. Otherwise, under-inflated tyres will reduce vehicle handling, increase braking distance and increase the likelihood of tyre blowouts, and increase the risk of accidents.

Airtec is engaged in the Support for the Chain of Responsibility, not only by helping control overloading with our Truck Scales but also in the tyre maintenance. The TTM Kit comes with 22 DS-1 Flow-Through Caps to save time and pressure, two Valve Extensions to make inner dual tyre valve accessible for inflating and a Dial Gauge Pressure tester to have an accurate pressure value. Each one of them available in a pack or sold individually.

BENEFITS OF MAINTAINING  YOUR TYRES WITH THE TTM KIT

There is a great economic benefit of maintaining your tyres with the correct pressure. The TTM Kit is a solution that not only will prevent tyre damage but will also bring benefits to your business.

  1. Save Fuel Costs: Save on fuel costs by reducing rolling resistance, by reducing resistance the engine uses less energy that in turn reduces fuel consumption and thus saves fuel cost.
  2. Save Time: With the Truckie’s Maintenace Kit you will save on labour time to  check your tyre pressures. The process is faster and easier and than before.
  3. Save Tyre Costs: By maintaining a correct tyre pressure throughout the year, tyres will last longer, saving also in time replacement.

STATUS OF YOUR TYRES

tyre-inflation-status

An under-inflated tyre will bend more and have more tyre area in contact with the road. As it rolls, it builds up internal heat, damages the tyre rim and the vehicle’s suspension and will result in significant loss in steering and cornering precision.

An over-inflated tyre is stiff and inflexible and its footprint is reduced while in contact with the road. Running over potholes can easily damage the tyre and will not isolate the road irregularities, resulting in a harsh ride.

5 CAUSES FOR TYRES
TO LOSE PRESSURE

  1. Temperature
  2. Sharp Objects
  3. Valve Stem Leaks
  4. Tyre Bead Leaks
  5. Alloy Wheel Leaks

temperature-iconTYRES LOOSE PRESSURE NATURALLY THROUGH THE PROCESS OF PERMEATION.

Changes in outdoor temperature can affect the tyres pressure rate. This change is more pronounced in hot weather. Generally speaking, a tyre will lose one or two pounds of air pressure per month in cool weather or even more in hot weather.

CONSEQUENCES OF UNDER-INFLATED TYRES

DON'T CHECK THEIR TYRE PRESSURES
Studies of road safety revealed that 44% of the population that drive fleets and personal vehicles don’t check their tyre pressure.

Consequences of under-inflated tyres

  • Reduced vehicle handling
  • Increased braking distance
  • Increased likelihood of tyre blowouts
  • Increased tyre wear
  • Increased fuel consumption
